We do not collect your salary, Screen Time activity, or other app records, and we do not store them on our servers. Fur the Money saves data on your device so the app can work. If iCloud sync is enabled, supported records also live in your own iCloud account. We do not have access to those records.
What you enter stays under your control
You may enter salary or hourly pay, bonuses, equity, paychecks, work schedules, workday records, a name, job title, company, tasks, notes, goals and other office details. These entries are used to calculate estimated earnings and provide the features you choose. They are not sent to us, your employer, advertisers, or analytics services. You can use an approximate pay amount if you prefer.
Screen Time is optional
On iPhone and iPad, the slack-off watch uses Apple's Family Controls and Device Activity APIs only after you enable the feature and grant Screen Time permission. You choose the apps, categories or websites to count through Apple's picker. Apple provides opaque selection tokens rather than revealing the selected app or website identities to our code. Usage threshold notifications let the app estimate time spent in your selections and record slack-off time during your shift.
Selection tokens, usage counters and slack-off logs are stored on the device and shared only with the app's own extensions. These records are excluded from the app's iCloud sync. We do not receive them. The app does not read the contents of other apps, messages, or web pages. Turn off the slack-off watch in the app's Settings to stop monitoring; you can also revoke permission in Apple's Screen Time settings.
Activity on Mac
If you enable the slack-off watch on Mac, the app checks the frontmost application's name and bundle identifier while Fur the Money is running. During your shift, it records time classified as slacking according to your selections. App selections and slack-off logs stay on that Mac and are excluded from the app's iCloud sync. The feature does not capture keystrokes, screenshots or the contents of other apps. You can turn it off in Settings.
Your device and your iCloud account
The app stores preferences and records locally, including in a shared app container used by its widgets and Screen Time extension. iCloud sync is on by default. When iCloud is available, it syncs supported records, including compensation, paychecks, schedules, workday records, profile details, tasks, notes, goals, fish and room decorations, between your devices signed in to the same Apple account. Apple operates iCloud; these records do not go to a developer-operated server.
To stop app sync on a device, turn off “keep the office in sync with iCloud” in the app's Settings. Turning it off does not erase records already in iCloud or on other devices. Apple's device backups may also include app data according to your backup settings. Apple's services are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Paycheck imports and receipts
If you choose to import a screenshot or file, text recognition and paycheck parsing run on-device, including Apple's on-device language model when available. The app does not upload the source image or file to us or to a remote AI service. Paycheck entries you confirm are saved as app records and may sync through iCloud. Receipts you choose to save to Photos or share leave the app at your direction and follow the privacy settings of the destination you choose.
No advertising or tracking
The app has no advertising, third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell personal information, build advertising profiles, or share your app records with data brokers. No developer account is required.
Keeping and removing records
Records remain in app storage until you edit or remove them, or remove the app's stored data. You can update your pay and profile in Settings and remove entries where the app provides a delete control. Copies in iCloud, backups, saved Photos, or shared files may remain after removing the app. Manage those copies through Apple's storage and backup controls or the destination app. Disabling sync alone does not delete existing copies. Contact us if you need help finding the right removal steps; we cannot view or delete records in your device or iCloud account for you.
When you contact us
If you send a support request, we receive only what you choose to include and use it to respond. Please avoid sending financial documents or unredacted screenshots. Support correspondence is separate from the app's private records.
